Nitrogen Applications

The main application is ammonia NH₃ production.

Also: cooling agent (liquid nitrogen) as well as in cryotherapy. In its gaseous state nitrogen is frequently used in filling automotive and aircraft tires due to its inertness and lack of moisture or oxidative qualities, as opposed to air. However the main field of application still remains in chemical production of ammonia, synthesis of nitrated fertilizers, dyes, explosives etc. Large quantities of nitrogen are used in coke production ("dry coke quenching"), while unloading coke furnace batteries and in rocket fuel pumping.
